The Invisalign® Consultation: What to Expect

Preparation

When you contact our office, our team will get an initial idea of your concerns and to start the preparation process for your teen's Invisalign® evaluation. We will contact your dentist for any current records and we'll verify your insurance coverage, if possible.

Evaluation

This evaluation appointment involves discussing your teen's concerns, goals, and desires. Dr. Schur will evaluate your teenager's bite and discuss potential approaches. We will gather proper records and submit them to Invisalign to start the virtual planning process. Your dentist and other specialists will be notified of Dr. Schur's initial findings, initiating the planning process.

Consultation

The next step is a consultation appointment, where you'll go over a video of your teen's actual tooth movement plan. We can make real-time changes to the virtual treatment during this meeting. The meeting is typically conducted in the office, but Schur Orthodontics also offers remote consultations over the phone and/or computer.

Starting Treatment

Once you approve of the treatment plan, we'll order the aligners and an appointment will be scheduled to start treatment. Follow-up visits are typically set at intervals from 8-12 weeks (based on your teen's needs). At the end of treatment, a set of retainers will be delivered, and follow-up visits will be far less frequent.
