Schur Orthodontics COVID-19 Update

In aims of reducing risk of spread of Coronavirus, as of March 17, we are closing our office for the rest of this week and next. We will monitor the situation and reopen pending data and recommendations of state and national health organizations and governmental departments.

When we return, we will delay appointments that are not related to treatment progress and comfort. We’ve devised a plan for maintaining social separation, which goes as follows:

  1. Upon arrival, remain in your car and call our office.
  2. We will call or message you back when your treatment chair is open, and you will be immediately seated and treated.
  3. Upon completion of your appointment, please return to your car and call us to schedule your next visit.
  4. We’ve marked tape line 6 feet from Tina; please remain behind that line to keep her safe.

Upon our return, you should reschedule your appointment if any of the following apply:

  • You (or a family member) have been experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, fatigue)
  • If you’ve been exposed to anyone with COVID-19
  • If you’ve traveled within the last 14 days, particularly internationally or on a cruise ship

Additional information regarding COVID-19

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is central to responding to this threat and a good source of information. More information regarding how to protect yourself can be found on their website.

The CDC provides dentists with a list of Standard Precautions, which we have followed for years and will always continue to follow. Their guidelines are instrumental in keeping our patients and staff safe as well as preventing the spread of any infection. Additional resources:

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions. Be assured your health and safety will continue to be our top priority as this situation develops!

Thank you,
